Gujarat Legislative Assembly Election will be in two phases on 9th December and 14th December 2017. The poll result of 14th Legislative Assembly of Gujarat is scheduled to be announced on 18th December. The battle for becoming the next chief minister of Gujarat seems interesting as two major political parties of India - the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are aiming to give their best shot. The state of Gujarat is a major influence on the national politics being backed by stalwart leaders of the BJP- Narendra Modi and party chief Amit Shah. While BJP will aim to retain its power with the upcoming elections in Gujarat under the guidance of strategist Shah. The current chief minister of Gujarat- Vijay R. Rupani who is a popular among people could be BJP's prominent candidate for the Gujarat Polls 2017. This year the Congress party had already lost 16 of its MLAs- while some are said to have joined the BJP ahead of the
Gujarat Election 2017. The Congress has not yet finalized its chief ministerial candidate but is hoping to win the upcoming Gujarat Assembly Election 2017 and is reaching out to young leaders of various agitations in Gujarat- be it Hardik Patel (Patel agitation), Jignesh Mevani (Dalit leader), and Alpesh Thakore (backward caste leader). However, in Gujarat the battle is tough for Congress. The winning party will be known only on 18th December, when counting will take place.
